Connect Firebase to finish setup

GPA Insight uses Firebase to handle sign-in and to store GPA data permanently on each account. It just needs your project's web config to switch on.

  1. Create a free project at console.firebase.google.com.
  2. Enable Authentication → Sign-in method → Email/Password.
  3. Create a Firestore Database (production mode is fine).
  4. In Project Settings → General → Your apps, add a Web app and copy its config object.
  5. Paste those six values into public/js/firebase-init.js — or set them as FIREBASE_API_KEY, FIREBASE_AUTH_DOMAIN, FIREBASE_PROJECT_ID, FIREBASE_STORAGE_BUCKET, FIREBASE_MESSAGING_SENDER_ID, and FIREBASE_APP_ID as environment variables (locally or on Vercel) and reload.

Full step-by-step instructions, including the Firestore security rules to paste in, are in README.md.
